Industrial / Trade Development at St Martins

Industrial / Trade Development at St Martins, Avonmouth, Bristol

Project consisted of 28,500 sq ft industrial/trade development at St Martins, Cabot Park, Bristol.

Four separate buildings make up the development which are split into various unit sizes and are arranged around access roads and car parking.

The structures are typical structural steelwork with clear span portal frames and secondary steelwork supporting the clad roofs and elevations.

Due to ground conditions, the foundations are designed utilizing reinforced concrete piles with pile caps and ground beams.

The ground slab is a specialist design fibre reinforced concrete supported on piles.

Site preparation works involved design of earthwork strategy for the site to comply with flood level derived from the Flood Consequence Assessment.

A series of reens/watercourses are present around the site and the surface water design incorporates the design of an attenuated system which discharges to the watercourses via a petrol inceptor and hydrobrake chamber. The foul drainage discharges to the local infrastructure via a package pump station.

External car parking and roads are designed with stone mastic asphalt to accommodate the vehicle movements and trailer parking for heavy goods vehicles.
